Los Angeles Times writer Marc Siegel says, “‘The Cleaner’ does a fair job of depicting drug addiction and recovery, but some aspects of the A&E pilot episode, such as a neck injection for a heroin overdoes, are not considered protocol.” Marc says, William Banks (played by Benjamin Bratt) mentions the fact that 75% of recovering drug addicts return to their addiction with 25% death rate. Marc then has a series of drug, addict, and recovering addict questions who is interestingly answer by Dr. Marc Gourevitch, addiction specialist and professor of medicine and psychiatry at New York University School of Medicine.
